Our take on a classic men’s shirt, the collarless Alpha Buttondown has a boxy cropped fit. In a crisp medium weight cotton with a playful zig zag appliqué border.

Design inspiration can come from many places at once. The triangular embroidery motif can be traced back to early 18th century quilting, when the popular pattern was called a “dogtooth border.”

The pattern also references handmade Rarámuri garments made by Tarahumara women in rural Chihuahua, Mexico. A portion of our profits for this shirt are donated to Fondo Semillas, a feminist fund that supports indigenous women, youth, and marginalized groups in Mexico.

How to measure

Use a soft tape, keep it level, and don't pull it tight — it should sit against you, not squeeze. It's easiest over a thin top or nothing at all.

Chest

Around the fullest part of your bust, with the tape level across your back and your arms relaxed at your sides.

Waist

Around the narrowest part of your torso, usually just above your navel. Breathe normally.

Hips

Around the fullest part of your hips and seat, with your feet together.
